About Me

I love YA books, writing and sunshine! In 2016 I was shortlisted for the Varuna Publisher Introduction Program Fellowship for a YA manuscript (The Alleyways which I later renamed The Long Way Home). In 2014 I was selected for a Publisher Introduction Program Fellowship by Varuna, the Writers’ House and Text Publishing for young adult manuscript The Prediction.

I was awarded the 2013 CBCA NSW Charlotte Waring Barton Award, Frustrated Writers’ Mentorship Program for YA manuscript Day 6 which included a mentorship with Penguin Books Australia.

I have been published in various anthologies and magazines, received placings and short listings in numerous competitions for young adult manuscripts including the CYA Children’s & Young Adult Writers’ Competition for Emerging Writers.

I am a member of the Children’s Book Council of Australia NSW (CBCA NSW), Australian Society of Authors, Varuna House Alumni, Romance Writers of Australia and the South Coast Writers’ Centre.

I volunteer my time to the Illawarra-South Coast sub-branch of the CBCA NSW and assist them with design work for their amazing programs which promote reading and the annual Literary Lunch which allows school children to meet authors and illustrators in a casual setting.

I love to read, pretty much anything, but especially young adult novels. I'm addicted to going to the movies and live for holidays. I'm extremely lucky to live on the beautiful South Coast of New South Wales with my husband, two sons and a crazy dog.
